Savor the Moments

If anything can upset plans, or organization, it is the holiday season. It seems as if everything has to wait until after the holidays because a ton of stuff must be done to prepare for them. It is probably more important to give yourself some down time now than any other time of the year. Yes, forget the major To Do list and put off whatever you can until January because if you just muddle through the holidays thinking it is one long list of things to do, you are missing the point. You can still be organized in your holiday planning, but do put things that can wait on hold. By rescheduling appointments and unrelated goals until after the holidays are over, you are mentally preparing to enjoy the weeks ahead. You are also tackling the holiday stress. And do pencil in time for yourself. See a movie, start a journal, read a book, do yoga or participate in a million relaxing and rejuvenating activities. Take those well deserved breaks between parties, shopping and holiday activities. It will help to create those Zen moments you are seeking so you have the wherewithal to create the holiday memories you truly desire.
